Koha Plone Website Contest

In conjunction with the upcoming Koha 3.0 release, the Koha community is proud to announce a Plone Skinning/Theming contest for a new Koha community website. Koha is an open-source integrated library system application with users from around the world and the Koha community has chosen Plone as its CMS for the Koha community website.

Grand Prize for the selected Plone skin/theme is $2,500 USD and full design and implementation credit given on the Koha website.

Honorable mentions will be announced via press release with contact information included (if so desired).

Contest Timeline and Details

Contestants will have until 23:59 GMT (3:59 pm PST/7:59 pm EST) of February 15, 2008 to submit their theme via a this URL: http://tinyurl.com/24rkwe
The entry form will require contestant's name, valid email address, a brief introduction to the design, a link to a screenshot, and a download link to the theme package.
The screenshot image and theme package must be accessible via the web without registration to be a valid entry.
The screenshot image and theme package must be available through March 19 to be valid a entry.
At 23:59 GMT on the February 15, 2008 the entry form will be locked and no further entries will be allowed.
Three Koha community judges will go through all entries and create a short list of top five designs that meet the design and technical requirements of the Koha Theme Contest.
The Grand Prize winner and and Honorable Mentions will be announced on March 19, 2008 on the Koha website.

Contest Rules and Requirements

The target site is running Plone 2.5.5
Theme packages must be installable via the Plone 2.5 QuickInstaller, all others will be disqualified.
All theme files must be licensed under the GNU/GPL version 2.
Themes must be the original work of the person(s) making the theme entry.
Teams may submit a single entry (e.g. a graphical designer and a Plone template designer who collaborate).
Multiple entries are allowed.
Theme packages must be fully Plone 2.5.5 compatible.
Contest participants are encouraged to use http://contest.koha.org/ as a guideline to the content, purpose, and overall navigation of the new Koha website. The site will include the following Products that should be themed (as needed):
- Ploneboard v1.0
- PloneHelpCenter v1.0.1
- PloneSoftwareCenter v1.0RC
- Maps v1.1
A zexp (Plone instance) of a sample site with content is available for download (unzip/untar the file and view the ContestContent.txt file for complete installation instructions).
Themes should not "break" with any of the sample content.
Themes must be valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS.
Themes should look and function similarly in Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.

Contestant name(s) and valid email address
URL to screenshot of the home page using submitted theme (minimum resolution: 800x600)
URL to tarball of the theme for local installation and inspection by Koha community judges
