Topics covered includeinstallation, Staff-Client and OPAC modules of a few LAP and its integration with Digital Library Software on Linux (Ubuntu) platform.

Two workshops of one week duration each (continuously two weeks) on Library Automation Packages (LAP) and its Integration with Digital Library Software are organised at National Centre for Science Information (NCSI), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore from July 27th to 31st and August 3rd to 7th.
The workshops are carried out as part of IDRC sponsored project on ILAP (http://dharmaganja.ncsi.iisc.ernet.in). First workshop was conducted from 5th to 9th January, 2009. Second workshop (July 27th to 31st, 2009) and third workshop (August 3rd to 7th, 2009) are being organised now. Through these workshops we aim to train manpower and share our experiences with open source software.
Topics covered:
Second Workshop (July 27th to 31st)
Third Workshop (August 3rd to 7th)
The workshop will be conducted with theory followed by lab sessions.
A
compact disk containing all the presentation slides, lab exercises and
installable software will be provided to the participants of the
workshop.
Registration Details: Registration fee is charged as follows:
(Fees for first time participants)
Rs 3000/- for one week
Rs 5000/- for two weeks
(Fees for those who participated in the last workshop conducted during Jan 5th to 9th 2009)
Rs 1000/- for one week
Rs 2000/- for two weeks
A DD has to be drawn in favour of 'The Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore' and posted to 'Dr Anuradha.K.T, National Centre for Science Information, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560 012'. Working lunch, tea and accommodation will be provided during the workshop dates. Participants have to take care of their travel only. Accommodation is arranged during the dates 26th July to 1st August and 2nd August to 8th August 2009 (Depending upon the registration for the workshop(s)). For a few selected international participants from South Asian countries, free registration for one workshop and partial travel allowance is provided. Accommodation is arranged at 'Hoysala House' hostel of IISc. Maximum of 20 participants will be taken for the workshop on first come first serve basis. Registration fee is not refundable.
